Which Should I join?

I am interested in joining the NRA again (as a life member at $300.00) or should I join for three years for $75.00?

Also, what do you know about the Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA)?
Is it worth joining along with the NRA? Or just better joining the TSRA by itself? What membership level do you recommend for either organization? Also my dad wants to join the NRA and he can join for $20 a year since he is a new member.

Best,
Jerry

After a few years of doing the yearly thing I got my NRA life membership a few years ago and now I don't have to worry about renewing or anything. It's just always there.

TSRA keeps sending me literature but I just haven't joined yet, although I've heard good things about them. I think I'll take a closer look at their flyer when they send another one.

Is it something you're interested in supporting? If so, and it's within your budge and makes sense, do a lifetime membership.

+1, if I had the scratch to get the life membership @ $300, I would have done it in a second! As it was, I re-upped for an annual and crossed my fingers that the run another special later.

They have an easy pay life option where you pay $25 a quarter towards the $1000 membership. That was what I was on but since I just started that last year, I cancelled to take advantage of the $300 membership.

It's pretty tough to turn down the $300 deal. I still need to do that myself before the deal expires in a few weeks.

I just pulled the trigger on it and cancelled my EPL because the sale is too good to pass up. I might even buy a life membership for my wife if they still have the deal going on in a couple of weeks.

The $300 deal is always there. I believe all you need is another member's number who is "sponsoring" you. There's a thread on Sig Forum with members offering up their numbers for this deal.

I'd love to join the NRA as a lifer but I don't see their support in my area so I opt for the annual membership and put the change on toys I can use and local range memberships. I do really appreciate NRA's tournament folks and wish the NRA put more effort/talk on supporting that end. Shooting sports and education are way better than video games...

I just did the NRA $300 lifetime membership. You do not need a sponsor for this deal. You can find more info over on the AR-15 forum and the link.
