I buy most of my knots from ACE and a a few from Virginia Sheng. Both sell through ebay. I buy mostly Finest and Silvertip from them.
One of the best sources for Finest is TGN (The Golden Nib). It may be the most highly thought of Finest for a hobbyist.
I'm not particularly impressed with their Silvertips.
I have an exceptional two band (Finest) from Maggards in a 26 mm knot. I can't imagine a nicer 26 mm Finest. I have two of them. I wasn't impressed with the 24 mm though. Many have posted that the Maggard SHD (supper high density) two band is even better. I see no need to try. I didn't find their silvertips to be any better than ACE or Virginia Sheng.
A name that seems to be mostly forgotten that once was a real hot one is Whipped Dog. His biggest knots (30 mm) are loftier than nearly anyone elses. His High Mountain (two band finest) compares with most any of the others mentioned above. His Silvertips were once a bit softer but the current product has an excellent backbone to face feel balance.
Then of course, if price is of little concern, check out ShaveMac. Exceptional quality and priced accordingly.

thank you all I never thought of looking at maggars .
I have a standard density 2 band 26mm and an SHD 28mm 2 band from them and LOVE both.
Both of mine are Bulb knots. I'm not much of a fan of the look of a fan knot but that's purely personal preference.
@Graydog turned me on to those knots and I am very glad he did.
