What's the deal with Aristocrats?!?

I looking to get a post 1948 model TO USE and not collect and this is what I've been up against of late:

If you look, one of those above went for over $150.00

Why have the prices skyrocketed?

Some of those prices seem outrageous. The new one for a little over $30 is a little low for mint. I regularly see excellent+ versions with cases go around $30.

Kev I have one that I bought and it isn't for me. I wanted to like it. It is in user shape and has some finish missing off the doors. I can clean it and take some pics of it today or tomorrow if you are interested?

I noticed this too. I was "watching" one yesterday that went from $14.00 to $41.00 AS I WAS HITTING THE "WATCH" LINK! It was nice and looked clean. I, too, just want one to shave with. It is probably one of the links you have there, but I never went back and checked after that.

The typical price for a "user" is $15. These prices are for excellent+, but are still crazy.
