Reading the book may have helped. The show, as I think about it, seems very sentimental, and even, arguably, a show designed to appeal to women. I do not remember the book seeming that way. On the other hand, the show seems fairly true to the book. I do still like the show. I guess I have some tolerance for schmaltz, but not usually a whole lot. I have not read any reviews. I wonder what critics are saying about it. As I recall the reviews were pretty good, but not amazing.I'm a few episodes in. Not sure if it has grabbed me yet. Never read the book.

There's a movie thread so thought I'd start one for the telly.
So...what TV series currently has its claws in you?
For me currently:
Dexter Season 8
Breaking Bad (waiting for next season)
Mad Men (you think?)
continuum
House of Lies
Banshee
Hijack . Even better than in Luther , Idris is my hero.I meant to create a new post but couldn't figure out how to
We stopped after one episode. Douglas is not believable as Franklin IMOI started watching Franklin. I'm not sure about it yet. He's definitely a hero of mine, but I'm not sure about the show.
