Yesterday, the Rifuto, soap was 3P lathered with an Omega boar, and a little ABC almond balm was the perfect compliment.

Today, an I.Z.S. by Iilzuka Co, a name knofe people will recognize. Iilzuka san worked with Iwasaki and Tanifuji before starting up his own forge, Shigefusa Hamono. I’m assuming that this is the same gentleman. Soap was Floris Elite lathered with a Duke 3 copy in two-band by @life2short1971 and a little Floris Elite AS finished up.

Beautiful Wade and Butcher, that was in a sad state when I got it. Honed on an equally sorry, broken skinny coticule that it spent its days with. It has an edge that I've yet to come close to matching with either of my coticules.

This morning was my third shave in a row with this generic Chinese stainless steel shavette, using the same Feather DE half-blade. I am finding that the save quality is dropping to were I now believe it to be about on par with my traditional SR's.

​

Tomorrow I will again shave with this SR and blade and then on Friday shave with my most favoured SR, the Gold Dollar W59 to compare.

I have been missing Ertan Süer's razor artistry. I had 42 or more hours of unchecked whisker growth, a crisis that demands 6/8.

An intensely rewarding shave. While I emphatically do not need any more SRs, I have a feeling that I have to have a fuller selection of Ertan Süer's work. 7/8? Splurge on some file work?

You have tremendous selfcontrol. I once managed to go 48 hours without SR shaving but I did do a bladeles shavette shave at the 24-hour mark.

I should add that with the cold weather (and dry house), I have been struggling to keep my lather wet. Anyone else having this problem?

And it was only 14 degrees Fahrenheit (-10 Celsius) this morning.
