What kind of DE razor is this

I recently received a razor that belonged to my grandfather-in-law. I wanted to know what anyone knew about it, including maker, year, basically anything you can.



It is an adjustable razor; the "gear" near the head is what adjusts it.

Also, wanted to know about shining it up. I know about the water and baking soda thing, but wanted to know for sure that it wouldn't do anything with the finish on the handle.

+1. Use Scrubbing Bubbles foam action to clean razor. Do a few coats of it and toothbrush. Don't use baking soda, it's nickel not silver.

Gillette made the Super Adjustable with what I think is a resin coated handle. So I would not use any harsh cleaners or boiling water. Just use a bowl of hot tap water and dish soap. Let it soak over night or two, then follow up with an old toothbrush.

***edit*** If the black part of the handle is about 2 and 3/8 inches then your razor is a short handled model v.s. the long which is closer to 3.

I believe it's a short handle. The black part is about 2.5 inches.
