What Exactly Do I Have?

$image.jpg

Hello Gents, I picked up this on the Bay not knowing what kind of razor it is. I just thought it looked very interesting and nobody else bid on it. It is some kind of open comb that says, "Adams-Germany". Does anybody else know what kind of Razor this is or how old this might be?

I do not know the complete DNA of yours, but think it is not uncommon to see the Adams head on a Merkur looking handle.
This is my Merkur from the 50s.

Rebranded Merkur, I've got a few and have sold a couple. Good shavers.

How old are these razors?

There has been some controversy over this here (B&B) in the past. I feel they are 1950s, maybe even early '60s as one of mine shows a W.Germany engraving, so obviously post-war. Good shavers, a little more aggressive than the current Merkur open combs.

I just looked at mine, a Weck, Grafco, Adams, and a W.Germany. The Grafco company sold them as pre-surgery tools I guess, Graham-Field Co. New Hyde Park, NY was a surgical supply house.

Thanks gents! I shaved with it this morning and I found it to be a little aggressive but still it delivered a great shave!
