First post in a while…life gets busy.

Paladin Badger with T&S West Indies and a Foghorn (made with blood orange gin). Getting in the tropical mood…early flight out tomorrow to head south for a week long scuba diving trip. Opted for the Slim set to 4 with a Gilette Platinum blade. Could be the gin talking, but 9/10. Today is a winner!

Wanted to utilize familiar tools today, I have a working interview this evening and want to present myself properly. Shave is comfortable but could be the faintest bit closer. 9/10

Lucked out today and found an unused (or very lightly used) Old Spice mug, complete with lid and soap.

It smells FANTASTIC. The soap lathered easily and gave me a great head shave in my customary three passes. I fought the urge to use my favorite aftershave: Avon Spicy. I buy every bottle I find in the wild, and literally have at least a half gallon. Using that today felt blasphemous, so I used my second favorite, some vintage Old Spice, for a wonderful finish.

Last note: It's sad that this soap is out of production. I have some current production Old Spice cream and it smells nice, it just ain't the same. I'll be using this for sure, but sparingly.

Everything clicked tonight. The blade and lather were dialed in right. Excellent shave. Traveling to Florida starting tomorrow so will miss a few shaves. Taking a disposable and hope I find a good can of goo somewhere lol. Maybe I’ll take some soaps. I didn’t plan this out well. 9.8/10 cheers!

Old Type, Perma Sharp, TOBS Eton College.

Finally dialing the Old Type, except for a small rough patch on the chin, all over irritation free BBS.

Sharp blades are better, even in more aggressive razors.

Tried out a Gillette Platinum blade. Didn't like it at all. Shave was not as close as what I get from Astra SP's and caused some mild irritation. Going back to the Astra SP!

Took the Colling back to the stones: much better shave tonight! Two and a half passes for a comfortable DFS+. Have great shaves!
