The Lather Maestro
Saturday's Shave

Pre-shave:
Shower
Razor: 1940's fat handled tech
Blade: vintage Schick Plus Plat #3
Soap: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man
Scuttle: Dirty Bird
Brush: Stirling boar
Post shave: Thayer's WH, followed by Stirling Sharp Dressed Man A/S splash

DFX+ 9.5 /10

Well, I did get a closer shave than I expected this morning with the Schick. They must sharpen up with use, which is not unusual with blades. Forgot the phone, so no pic today.

Another great shave from the Gillette this morning. It is earning it's place next to my other adjustable (CCCP Rubin). Head shave S-N, one pass with a cleanup. The blade continues to do well (3 & bin). Next blade will be a Treet Falcon.

Gillette (J3) Slim Adjustable (6 setting)
Müster Shaver Fine Special Edition (Platinum) blade
Omega Boar
Stirling Bay Rum

9/10

Saturday- a lovely, relaxed two-pass shave 9+/10, DFS:

Maxwell June, twinned DE
KCG (3)- a really nice blade with too high a price; took a break from exploring Treet blades to regain a known reference point with a PPI blade, but likely will switch to a different Treet tomorrow to continue my explorations
Canada Shave Soap- simply yields a terrific, effective lather that does not require much of a load
Rein Dachs Klassik badger brush- new; an interesting low-cost brush ~$30 with a nice mid-size metal handle and a 20mm knot that's not uber soft, but softer than many badgers in the price range; seems like it may well break in to be a really nice brush
Master Smokey Oud- this scent seems to just make me smile, then a little Cerave since it is so dry in the house

Have a great weekend!

These are great little razors that seem to get overlooked. If you like Super Speeds, give one of these a try.

Brush: 24mm Synbad
Lather: Stirling Haverford -- finished it today! This is my favorite soap. It will be refilled as soon as I kill a couple other tubs.
Blade: Feather ProGuard (3)
Razor: Blackland Vector
Post: Thayer's, Pinaud Clubman, Stirling Gentlman EdT

I had a few extra hours' of growth to work on today. Somehow I gave myself five weepers! The tub of Haverford lasted just a little over a year. What a great scent. I did 3.5 passes today, a half pass less than usual, trying to save a little for tomorrow morning. DFS+ results with the aforementioned injuries, but no irritation or post-shave sensitivity. Let's say it's a 8/10.

Preshave: PAA Mentholated Cube in the shower
Brush: Omega Evo
Bowl: CC Copper
Soap: MdC Vetyver
Razor: Wolfman WR2 1.25 SB / Gillette Common Bar Handle
Blade: Gillette Permasharp (3)
Post Shave: PAA Alum, Thayer’s Lavender Witch Hazel
After Shave: Fine Green Vetiver
Balm: Brickell’s Instant Relief
Frag: Guerlain Homme EdP
Rating: DFS 9.5

After the talk of light handles I tried my 1.25 WR2 on the Gillette Common Bar Handle. It was a pleasant shave. Too soon to say what I think of the light handle. It was different in balance to what I am used to, but, it wasn't awkward in any way. I think I will devote some shaves to this combo first. Martin de Candre is great stuff and Vetyver is my favorite scent. The Omega Evo is a great brush. It is my only synthetic, but, what a synthetic. Great kit today all around.

More Deep Thoughts than Jack Handy
Pre-Shave: Cold water splash - PAA Tube 2.0
Soap: TOBS Grapefruit shave cream
Brush: AP Shave Co Emerald
Razor: RazoRock Game Changer .84 SS SB
Blade: Rapira Platinum (1)
Post-Shave: Cold water splash - Stirling Witch Hazel & Aloe (Bay Rum scent) - Lucky Tiger Face Tonic
AS: Bootlegger's Perfecto Maduro Bay Rum aftershave splash

This was my shave this morning. A good shave. The RR GC .84 is a good razor. For me, it just doesn't get as close as my Lupo and Wolfman razors. A nice shaver and a fun shaver. Will keep it in my rotation. Using the Blackland Dart handle on it right now. TOBS never disappoints.

Happy Shaves, Everyone.
