Last night I was bummed after i missed on a deal of two razors here on B&B. This morning as I always do on Saturdays go to estate sales for some deals on goods and vintage shaving products. As i walk in to the first house i see a gentleman walking out with 4 SE razors. i stoped him and asked of where he got those from and he replied that they were found in a box under a table. So i walked at a very fast pace and as I get closer to the table I see two green with white boxed with the word Gillette across them. Guess what the boxes were?

Thanks. they are both un-used, the blades are still sealed, both with factory cardboard boxed, instructions and one with price tag.

Very nice find and recently confirmed to be the second Gillette U.S. made razor plated in rhodium. At least partially. The handles on the Presidents are rhodium plated, the heads are nickel plated. The 1950s Executives are fully rhodium plated and up until last week, were the only known rhodium plated razors Gillette made in the U.S.

I just read that post. A while back I had a president with plate loss and the handle still looked great compared to the head. Since then i wondered what the handle was made of.

As far as What i payed, this was an estate sale and they were sitting next to some glassware and old pictures. Nothing on that table was more than $10.
Sending PM.
So sweet.

So I'm going to kick myself, but how much did you pay? (And how much will you charge me for the spare one?)

curses, this is why I keep slogging through estate and garage sales, antique stores, flea markets etc. When you find that "gold mine" all the misses and mint christy razors that are offered to you are worth it! Nice find!!

Really, what did that other guy pick out over two Presidents? It really makes my head hurt that someone would take something else over these.

What I think is since you never see Gillettes in the cardboard boxes and being mixed with items that were exposed he probably missed them. The straights he had had perfect looking boxes with them. I am going to get rid on one.

Nice score. Once in a lifetime.

No, on second thought. Most of us will spend a lifetime of looking without coming across something like that.

Too bad the original owner has passed beyond our ability to ask a few questions...Why two? Why unused?
