Hey gents this is my six dollar antique store find today. I have no idea what it is other than it takes a GEM blade. Can anyone id it?

I can't make out the wording under the cap. Is it Gunley's Special? I don't see that in Waits.

Curleys special safety razor. Ive googled it extensively and come up with nothing.
There is very little in Waits, but here it is.
I am guessing that is the same company. Waits is far from complete.

Correct, that is what I found thru my research. They are a straight razor/shavette company company mostly and literally nothing I saw said anything about the GEM style razors.
It looks more like "Gurley's" to me -- and googling that comes up with a straight razor company.

Im like 99% sure its a C. I've had it under bright light and magnified. The finish is almost like a gun blue.
It's Curley, if I'm reading the patent number correctly.

It is a Curley for sure. I just can't find a lot of info on them.

So I had to straighten the hinge a little so the blade didn't wiggle. Its good to go now and It shaves almost exactly like a MMCP but lighter. It was a good investment @ $6 lol.
