Went Shopping

I took a tour of the Lakeside Village Mall in Lakeland, Florida yesterday. I bought some tubes of C.O. Bigelow shaving cream from the Bath and Body Works. Most of the other smaller stores there are boutique designer high end type stores and are not conducive to drug store splash after shave guys like me. I walked into a store called "Perfumes." I asked the girl if they had aftershave and she immediately showed me a bottle of something and said, "It's only $69.90." I responded, "I was looking for something more like $6.90." She didn't think that was funny at all, but I thought it was hillarious. I then went to Belks and spotted "Moonshine" aftershave. It did not really have any kind of interesting smell at all and for only $74.99 for a small bottle. Needless to say, I walked back to my car w/ my shaving cream and went home.

Too funny. The best deals I have found on AS are either at the grocery/drug store or a small step up at Orvis/Amazon for either a huge bottle of Lime Bay Rum or Grey Flannel both for $20 or less, but the Lime Bay Rum is reasonable on a per ounce basis.

I like 'em all..... from Classic Ice Blue AV to Santa Maria Novella. I suppose there's a limit to what I might spend on a bottle of aftershave, but when you have quite a few bottles of different kinds at different prices, each bottle lasts at least a couple years for me..... so I can justify spending $75 on a bottle of AdP or T&H every so often. Hell, I took my three kids out to a Bob Evan's for breakfast the other day and it cost me $53 with a tip...... for pancakes mostly. Not too many things seem reasonably priced to me anymore.... maybe it's a sign I'm getting old :wheelchair: .

Yeah, but then there is reasonably priced and highway robbery. I don't know how that girl could look me straight in the eye, hold up a little bottle, and proclaim that it is ONLY $69.90. I guess there was a big difference in the ages of that sales girl and me; like 40 years. I'll stick to the drug store stuff. Way way cheaper, and does the job quite well.

Cottontop, probably a similar age different between you and I, and I would have probably let out a laugh and walked out the moment she mentioned the price. I'll stick to my Bay Rum AS, my girlfriend loves it so it's a win win.

Pinaud Clubman is all I need, well maybe a little Old Spice ... And a little AV .... Oh no, am I developing another AD ....
