Went a little crazy on the bay... PIF fodder?

Saw a lot of five DE, not a good photo with the plain ones up front, and a couple of Gillette boxes behind them. Since one looked very Fat boy-esque I just had to go for it... So far I appear to have:

A black handled Schick Krona, a 1968 Knack, and Gillette Travel Tech - no date alas.

Also got what appears to be a boxed 1965 Gillette Flair Tip Super Speed to me, though this only has a straight flair, unlike the one on the wiki that has circles around it. Also came with dozen or so "Hammer Brand Stainless Blade" - not including the one that was still in it...

Also got this 1958 Fat Boy adjustable with box and instructions.

So far they all seem to be covered in dust or old soap scum. All seem sound and in alignment, and the TTO are all smooth.

Of course, I'll need to test them all first to see how they compare, after that comes the hard bit; do I keep, trade, sell, or PIF... (SWMBO seems to think 1 razor is enough, and 2 is a luxury - though she has agreed to the idea of another shelf just for the shave gear, so may be some hope yet).

Any recommendations on which of the above are particularly Newbie Friendly? I've just been on the receiving end of a PIF - would like to do something similar.

Leave SWMBO. Keep the razors.

I would say all of them except the travel tech would make great PIF razors. If I had to pick I would pick the black handled Schick Krona or the 1968 Knack to PIF. But if you have a duplicate of the Fatboy or SS either of those would make excellent first time razors.

The Knack is a nice mild razor, and the Krona is an overlooked, very capable day to day piece of hardware....consider keeping the Fatboy outfit as an investment option!:001_smile

Hide them under a floor board! Glad I'm not married, or the exponential rate at which my RAD has developed would likely lead to a divorce...

Divorce is not an option - she said "till death do us part" (though she didn't specify natural causes...)

In just over a week I've gone from 1 razor, 2 soaps, and a couple of pre-shaves to 7 razors, 4 soaps, 8 soap samples - and did I mention the soap stick and blade samples currently en route...?

I think I need to test the Schick and if it shaves OK I'll line up a PIF...

That Schick is a GREAT shaver.

Can you get a clean shot of those Hammer Brand blades? Wonder if it's the same Hammer Brand owned the Imperial Schrade knife company.

Has anyone tried to use a travel tech like that? I had one once and put a blade in it but could not bring myself to use it. The small handle was too awkward.

I have one and keep in my travel kit. Works OK, but to me the biggest problem is the light-weight nature of it. I don't recommend going for a BBS with it, though.
