weber dlc vs. edwin jagger/muhle closed combs

I've not had or used a Jagger/Muhle closed comb for quite some time now--I do have a Weber DLC which is remarkably smooth and easy.

Anybody using both? Are they a pretty close comparison (outside of handle heft)

The handle heft is a major factor in comparison results. It should not be excluded in your inquiry.

These are my only two razors both with Bulldog handles. I've been using the 89 for several weeks and got the DLC out this morn. to check it out for this thread. Well the DLC gave a closer smoother shave with a 3 day old Astra SP than the 89 yesterday with 2 day old Astra. Not a definitive study but surprised me as I had thought the 89 was closer shaver. Both are good IMO and I'm keeping both.

Using the Weber bulldog handle with both heads (DLC and EJ89), my experience has been that the DLC offers a marginally more efficient shave. They are very similar for the most part in terms of shaving dynamics. YMMV!

I used the EJde89L W/ Bulldog handle today and had excellent shave. I had only one razor, the EJde89l since last December and added a DLC & the Classic & Bulldog handles in August and they have all been working excellent. I tend to use one combination for a few shaves & then switch for no particular reason except what I feel like for that day.

I feel fortunate that many blades I currently have been working in all those combinations, some slightly better than others i.e. my favorites :biggrin1:
