washers beaten into the scales

so the first time I got a razor and I thought I would be happy, then I noticed the pins are beaten into the scales. one washer wasn't even there anymore

so I read forums watched YouTube videos and tried to find other sources to read. one offering was to drill your hole 5/64 . put drops of super glue in the holes. let them dry. redrill them. proceed as normal.. thoughts?

Yup, photos will help advise you better.

Depends on what the scales are made of. It is actually not uncommon for old well used razors to be “re-pinned” without collars to keep them shaving.

But when pins fail, there is usually another issue, they don’t just wear out.

Some scale material glue well some do not.
