Vintage GLENEATON Shaving Bowl

I had a Yardley Lavendar (NOS) that I sold on another forum and this one came from the same find, just did my very first test lather with it today and..... WOW... Pretty sure this is a tallow soap, the smell was subtle but DELICIOUS and the lather was thicker and creamier than my beloved Arko.

Anyone know anything about this?? All I can think of is that it might have been done for the store, Eatons?

I'm literally doing this as I write the post. The first test lather was with my Rooney Chubby Heritage (size 3), this test lather will be with my custom 30mm super silvertip.

I should say that this brush is extremely soft and verging on floppy, like the Kent brushes, this soap is SUPER hard (harder than my MWF) and it whipped up lather SO easily!

Fantastic lather. The bowl looks like a vintage Yardley but who knows? The man point I take from this is the luxurious lather. It is a stupid state of affairs when shave soap chemistry was perfected 125 years ago and now premium houses are fooling around trying to reinvent the wheel. Drugstore soaps that cost 89c made lathers like that fifty years ago. Sorry to rant. Great score.

Cheers, Todd

First shave with the soap this morning and WOW, I'm a HUGE Arko fan but this stuff is even better. Now I get why people pay big bucks for vintage soaps online! This stuff produced the thickest, creamiest, slickest lather to date with NO effort. My face was left feeling refreshed, moisturized and like it had talcum powder put on it! GREAT stuff!

Another shave this morning with this wonderful soap. Brought out my TI Flying Eagle 7/8 with ram horn for a 'special occasion' shave (it's the only time I bring it out) and had an incredible shave using this soap: so slick, so cushiony, so mild and that great powdered feeling at the end of the shave.

For some reason, while this soap doesn't seem to have much scent while using it, my ENTIRE bathroom smells like this soap! Man do I love this stuff.

Wow, the soap, the lather, the brush, it is all very impressive. I am aware of Yardley just from reading what others have said here at B&B and I am now always on the look out for it any time I go into an Antique store or go on a Aquisition Hunt. Great pics and congratulations on your find.

I shouldn't have sold the yardley but it had the original box, pamphlet and tissue paper over the puck, it was absolutely NOS and I got a hefty cheque for it!
