Vintage German WWII blades

What brands of DE blades would have been used during WWII by a German soldier. I am a WWII reenactor and am always looking to add to my impression. I have been wet shaving for a little while now and love it and am hoping to possibly add this to my impression. If you have any scans or websites that show any of the wrappers that would be a big help. Thanks for any info you may have,
Brian

Take a look at http://www.archivingindustry.com/cutlers&toolmakers/razormakers.htm for some brand names to look into: a cast of thousands, including well-known names like Henckels, Souplex, and Rotbart.

The vintage German blades I have on hand are Orion, Wanie, and Merkur. The Merkur are probably post-war based on the set they came with, but Merkur almost certainly made blades during the war. The others are probably pre-WWII because they are the older three-hole design.

Wow, that's a lot of manufacturers! It's interesting to see how many manufacturers there were competing in Germany.

Does anybody else have any other info on WWII blades? Even just a scan of the blade and/or wrapper would be a huge help. Thanks,
Brian

You could probably watch the Bay for some vintage wrappers and simply repackage a modern blade or two. After all you do use blanks, don't you? Anyway I see a bunch of vintage wraps from Italy, Greece, etc. If you can find an Italian wrap you can claim you served under Kesselring on the Gustav Line.

That kind of what I was planning on doing. I just wasn't sure on what brands they would have used. I will have to track down some period catalogs. Thanks for the help,
Brian
