What's new

Very surpised with an old EverReady 200T

I got an EverReady 200T model brush at an auction this weekend that looks like it was never used. I cleaned it up a bit, sterilized it all, and decided to use it for last night's shave.

Wow.

I got a better and quicker lather than my usual Tweezermen's Badger brush. I was surprised.I guess I expected a brush that old to not stand a chance against something as new as the Tweezermen brush.

I love my Ever Readys. I have a C-40, 150, and an F-40 (nearly identical to your 200T) all unused & new in their boxes. Right now I switch between my old collage buddy, a 1970's 150 and a 750 Lucite that I've been breaking in for about a month. I like the feel of these brushes so well that I sometimes lather up & not even shave! (Yeah, weird, i know)

There are some neat old cost effective shaving items out there that work great, the EverReadys (150s, etc) are in that group for me as well. Ive had fun with other brands that were expensive by comparison but I cant say the end result was any better than what I get with the good old basics.

Love mine.

I have, I think, a 500PB which I bought at a drugstore for about $5, about forty years ago. I haven't always wet shaved, but you could say the brush has at least 5-6 years of use, and it looks like new. Lathers harder soaps nicely, very soft and pleasant on the skin, terrific bargain all around. Very utilitarian black plastic handle, but it feels the same (dry, to me, anyway) as some of those $200 jobs.
