Vacation shave itinerary questionnaire

Alright kids,

im going on vacation next week to Jamaica and I have to figure out which razor, which blade, which soap, which brush and which aftershave to bring with me. I want to bring everything but that's just nuts. So it's Jamaica right? Should I bring the Bay Rum A/S or something else to mix it up a bit? Here are the options:

1920s Gillette Old Type Ball End
1968 Gillette Tech Ball End
(neither of these have much sentimental value relatively so if baggage gets lost, no tears)

Astra SP (already decided this is the one)

Omega 10066 (already decided on this one as well, if baggage is lost, no tears)

What would you choose in each category and why?

Razor: Tech It's less fussy w/ blade alignment. Yeah, the old type can probably get you to BBS more easily, but who needs a BBS on vacation?

A/S: VIBR. You're going to the Caribbean, right?

Sorry, can't help w/ the soaps as I've never used any of them.

I'd take the MWF with the 4711. 4711 does well in heat and humidity.

The sun is starting to get more intense and the heat and humidity is rising in the Caribbean so I'd recommend taking milder items. The Tech razor is easier on skin that has had a little too much sun. I'm not familiar with your soaps (except my favorite, MWF) but pick one that lathers easy with any kind of water and has good skin conditioning properties. I agree with the 4711 and I would consider throwing a good conditioning balm in case you do a little too much sun. Hope this helps, enjoy your vacation!

take a razor and blades then hit up a local shop and use what ever AS and soap/creme they have there.

I saw this and was in awe. I'm not sure we are going to be leaving the resort at all to do any exploring and I heard there isn't much to be found in Jamaica in terms of shaving items. But if I ever hit up St Maarten I'll be on a shopping spree inspired by your good self

When I'm on vacation I only bring some aftershaves. I don't worry to much about shaving.Have a great time.

Its going to be somewhat humid there, so something cool and maybe menthol for shaving cream/soap. I like the Aqua Velva AS. Feels good on the face. Thats what I used primarily when I was stationed on Guam.

Good shout regarding aqua Velva. I just realized that for a sunburned face (inevitable really), I'm gonna need Lucky Tiger AS and FT. That stuff is nectar on a hurting face
