Use of Pre-Shave Creams (e.g. Proraso, 3P, Prep) with Shave Soap Sticks

Does anyone use these products together, and if so, how exactly?

I use Proraso before a stick on occasion. They're really not mutually exclusive, if you give the pre-shave a few minutes to do it's thing it won't matter if it gets smeared away by the stick. I just go right for it and it works out fine. The stick I use is an Ogallala Bay Rum Orange and it mixes into a nice menthol-orange sort of thing.
