Obviously a case/razor mismatch!And you wonder why it does not fit the case...
With that handle it does even fit the case! 
Brush it across the grain.
Got me a 1934 NEW and guess what? The seller sent me an upside down model!
The auction pictures did show a regular set, but I got sent the upside down one instead!

Thank you! It is a french import, british made, model. The handle is stamped: "Importé d'Angleterre".
(imagine all the goods today would be stamped where they were imported from!)
The razor cleaned up very nicely and I already had a great shave with it.
