Unknown marking on scales

Hi all!

I was eyeballing the George Wostenholm & Son straight & I noticed very faint marks on the backside of the scales, maybe roman numerals or a code/model?

Here's what I can see...

(maybe XX?) V III VI

Hope this can be identified.

I've tried multiple times to photograph the markings & they are too faint (I can only see them with the light reflecting off - don't even feel the marks...). I'm not sure how to get these to show up.

really, the only time i have seen markings was not manufacturer bur was user or collector identifying..

+1, quite often I get razors with all sorts of things scratched into the scales. I'm guessing some guys attempt at monogramming. I just buff them out.

it sounds like you've found the GPS coordinates of the resting place of the grail. Or maybe not.
