Types Of Tobaccos?

I have been smoking for past few months and have just received some samples. I can for the most part tell Aro's from Va's and Eng blends by smell. Since I have certain dedicated pipes for each type I want to know what category the following fall under?

Twisted Pete

Capital Choice

Cavendish

Peterson Irish Flake

Key Largo

Purple Cow

Savinelli 1876

A brief description / impression IYO would be helpful as well.

I have only smoked key largo. I would say its an english blend. I wanted to like it because I like reading articles GL Pease writes up about pipe smoking, but I just couldn't. I am not a fan of latakia, and he tends to put a lot of it in his blends. That's a personal taste thing, I've heard from quite a few people that like his stuff.

www.tobaccoreviews.com has a great description from the blender of what tobaccos are used in the blend as well as reviews from pipe smokers.

I am one. Enjoying Westminister and Key Largo ;~)

I have used this resource. A little confused when I get to blends like this; http://www.tobaccoreviews.com/blend_detail.cfm?ALPHA=P&TID=2682

It has Virginia ribbon and latakia which I thought any with this automatically makes it an English.

You can get the Lakeland district tobaccos which are very very English, yet they contain no latakia. Latakia can be used as a "condiment" tobacco much like perique which just adds a touch of spice or flavoring to the primary tobacco. I am not a big latakia fan, although I have smoked enough Early Morning Pipe to cure all the tea in China.
