Turning a brush handle

I'm looking at getting a lathe to try and turn a few brush handles, previously I've used a router and various angled cuts to accomplish it, but I've never used a lathe in my life. Does anyone know of any resources on-line that cover basic lathe operation or more specifically address how to turn a brush handle?

If there's a "Wood Craft" store in your area they offer classes and work shops.
Shaving brushes are for the most part very simple spindle turnings.
You might try "googling" using the terms "wood turning" and "spindle turning"

You can possible find a club in your area at http://www.woodturns.com/clubs_associations/ If there is, they usually have sponsors that give free hands on lessons but you'll probably need to become a member of the club for a small fee per year.
