Treets versus GEM SE blades.

I've been learning to shave with a GEM 1912, and the Treet blades they sell at Rite-Aid have been somewhat underwhelming. They need corked right out of the pack in my experience, and simply aren't impressing me with sharpness.

The Walgreens on the corner has GEM stainless blades. Are these better?

I haven't tried the Treet blades, but I have used the Gem blades from Walgreens, and the store branded blades from CVS. The CVS blades are a little smoother for me, but the Walgreens Gems are just fine for me too.

What Treets are they? Some are significantly better than others. The Treet Platinums are quite good blades.

The Treet blades are my favorites, I find them sharper and smoother than the Gems from Walgreens or the Ted Pellas (which I think are identical). But since they are made of uncoated carbon steel they dull quicker and are prone to rusting if they're not dried thoroughly after each use.

Better? Only you can decide which one is better for you after trying each one a few times in different razors.

+1
I've been having good luck with the Gems from Ted Pellas, but I feel like I have to hand strop them a bit. Starting to think the Treets are smoother out of the box, so to speak.

I tried the PAL blades and I am only able to get 3 shaves off them. The 3rd shave is ruff. I assume these are carbon steel. I just picked up some GEM at Walgreens I am sure to get better results.

Thank you I see it was not the Gem 1912 SE that was causing the issue being ruff. I'll try the GEM blade which I know is stanless steel that should fix things hehe.
