Tom Ford Private Collection

I just got two samples of Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather and Arabian Wood. I really wanted a sample of Tobacco Vanille, but they were out.

Anyone try the two ? Which do you like?

I also got a chance to sniff some bond no 9. wall street, it was very peppery, i just wasn't feeling it.

I also sniffed away at Creed's royal english leather (amazing), silver mountain water, windsor, taborome, green valley, and imperial. The person helping mixed the windsor with the green valley. he also said the royal english leather is so strong you need to spray it in the air and walk into it. Besides rel, i wasn't really blown away by any scents. GIT, Original Vetiver, REL , Original Santal, and Himalaya are still the top scents. YMMY.

I did some research last night. I found out Tom Ford wanted to have some fun with his private collection. He tried to make colognes smell in ways we never thought, supposedly one of them smells like crotch

I just put some on, i dont get cocaine, having never tried the white monster from Bolivia, but I get a very strong tobacco/leather scent. Almost like pipe smoke in a den in 1945 England. Its very manly, and very strong. It does dry to a softer sweeter scent.

Will try the arabian wood tomorrow!

The Tuscan Leather truly smells like Leather. I have a 5ml vial of it. I really like the Tobacco Vanille layered with Rose 31. I have a 5ml vial of that as well.

Odd that you say you get a peppery hint on Wall Street. I really only smell melon, but love it all the same.

I've liked all the Private Collection scents I've tried. They're extremely potent and actually smell like their name. IMO, TL is the only "leather" scent that smells like real leather. I have smelled cocaine (legally, of course and it does NOT smell like TL. I've also tried Tobacco-Vanilla and Amber Absolute. The stuff is expensive, but I got in on splits via BN.

The Tobacco Vanilla is pretty good, as is Tuscan Leather. My favorite by far is Oud Wood. They have one called Black Violet which smells awesome on my wife. I'm a huge fan of the line. Just not the price!

I've tried most of the Private Collection, Tobacco Vanille is by far my favorite. Tuscan Leather is great, Bois Rouge is nice, but it's too similar to Tiffany for Men, Italian Cypress and Moss Breches are also nice.

The Tuscan Leather is still going strong. The leather scent hasn't warn off at all. It does have a hint of carbon pencil #2 as well to it.

Very nice scent, and 100% different.

So today I tried the Arabian Wood sample. Not only does it not smell like like anythin Arabic, it doesn't even smell like wood.

Its very feminine smelling, almost like talcum powder and sweetness.

Not for me. I stopped after one spray.

Wow, after 2-3 sniffs my nose is shot and I can't honestly evaluate any other colognes for a few hours. Maybe you did this over a few hours, I don't know. Gotta love the Creed, but I'll pass on a collection that incorporates a crotch scent.

Coffee is your friend... Go smells some beans or grounds.. That'll clear things out..
