What's new

Today's antique store find.

In a store i frequent mind you. These were not there two weeks ago. The brush has a marbelized bakelite base. Pretty cool. I think I will re-knot it.

The Flaretip is in amazing condition dated Z-3 (does that make this a TV special?). Nicest one I have (now a set of three, but one is my 14 yo son's).

Cost, $4.50 each.

Sorry for the sideways brush, lol.

That IS NOT a TV special, but IT IS a beautiful specimen! That brush is also very nice, calling out for a new knot and a permanent spot on your bathroom counter. Nice scores!

Excellent brush. Nice razor too, but not as unusual.

There's a thread around here somewhere about restoring Ever Readys I think.

Nice, that's the plan for this one. Looks like it will take paint in the lettering very well. As for the razor, I guess it's a 79, I thought there were only black handled superspeeds by then.

btw, an easy way to ID the TV Specials is that the knurling on the handles runs length-wise while the other Superspeeds have the cross hatching you see on yours. Other than that... and the nick name, I don't think their are any other differences. Had two (its my birth year razor), PIF'd one away.

If you were a minimalist, you could restore the brush and have 2 great tools for the rest of your shaving life! Throw in a soap or cream and you're set!

(But that's not the way it works here!)

Scored a 40s super speed and a slim in mint condition with cases for $10 a week ago, but I've yet to take pictures and share..... Failure... Good job!

Very nice! There's a local antique store in my town that I have been eyeing. I'm headed out now to see what I can find.
