What's new

TOBS soap puck, hi price, average performance.

I had a small tube of TOBS Sandalwood cream and I really loved the scent. I prefer using soap pucks so I ordered the same thing in a puck.
Now that I have tried it I am very disappointed. It has a high price of $15.00 and I found the performance to be average. I think you can get many good soaps just as good as this for just $5.00.
Then I was also disappointed in the scent. It is no where as good as the cream.
I'm so angry (at myself for paying top dollar) for buying this soap I may just PIF it soon.

I'd be willing to try it, but yeah I can say I think any thing but the cream in sandalwood is hard to beat...it is yummo and lovely to use (the cream). I often wondered if the pucks would be different, sorry for the bad exp on that is a shame.

The scent of the soap was just weird for me, it wasn't sandalwood at all. To my nose it smelled like jasmine, sweet notes, and incense. The lather was OK, but I found the soap drying. I never tried the cream, so I can't really compare.

I hear the Jermyn St. soap is better. The St. James stick is very nice.

Yeah, that sucks. I've been wanting to pick up a puck of Jermyn St. for a while now because I love the scent and just haven't gotten around to it. I might have to research this further if the performance is not good.

I have had pretty good luck with the TOBS soap, but it takes a bit of extra effort to load enough to make a good lather. For instance, with a 2-band brush I can load my DR Harris for about 30 seconds and be good to go. With TOBS I have to load about double that amount of time otherwise I just can't get the lather where I like it.
