Good evening chaps. Some of you may recall that back in September I ordered three of those el cheapo horse hair brushes from Bestshve. They finally arrived a few days ago and this morning I got around to soaking them well and running them through a lather test to clean and de-funkify them. Imagine my surprise when they looked, lathered, and smelled exactly like BOAR bristles. I snapped a few pre-wash shots and one after just soaking them with water. They exhibit all the properties of boar and they REEK of boar stenc:h. I am unsure what to make of them. The bristles are not nearly as white as my Omega boar nor the same Bestshave model that I used last year during a brush pass. I remember thinking then that any talk of horse benig kind of a hybrid between pig and badger was not correct.The brush lathered just like boar. Now I am not saying these are boar but anyone who has smelled that stench knows what it is. What do you lads think about this? I will get the photos up soon. Not a huge issue at 2.45 apiece but I wonder.... maybe time to investigate Vie-Long for the pony hair.
