What's new

Third shave, what an improvement!

This morning was my 3rd shave with the straight, and what an improvement. I had to go back to the DE for a few days because the last time I used the straight because I tore up my throat pretty well.

I used my Dovo 6/8" that I had stropped several times. I was using KMF Peach Moisturizing shave. After reading a bunch of posts here, I really focused on my angle. I went way more shallow than I had before, and viola! Whisker removal and no irritation. I did two passes, one WTG and one sort of XTG/ATG depending on where I was and then some touch up. It is DFS in some spots, a little rougher in others but it definitely looks like I shaved today. :biggrin1: What I was even more impressed with is there was absolutely no blood, not even a weeper. That's not something that happens for me on a regular basis even with a DE.

I was pretty sure I was going to stick with this before today, now I am definitely hooked!:thumbup:

Thanks to everyone sharing their experiences and tips. It helped me out a lot.

Congratulations! :thumbup::thumbup:

Today also was my third daily consecutive straight shave with results very similar to yours. Unfortunately I had two small nicks. Yes, angle is definitely the key. Surprised at how shallow the angle needs to be, almost laying the blade flat on my face.

I too am getting hooked. :w00t::w00t:

My goal is to get BBS, like I can with my 1946 Aristocrat.

Congrats! Weirdly enough, today was my third shave with a straight, and I had similar results! I did relather and finish with a WTG pass using my Merkur classic though ... :blushing:
