The Weber Has Landed!

It's here. I just unwrapped it. The fit and finish on this razor is flawless. It's really beautiful. The head is surprisingly light for being made of stainless steel. The handle has a nice heft, and the razor feels really well balanced. I put a blade in it to make sure everything lines up ok. The blade alignment is spot-on. It does look like there's more blade exposure than even my 34C has, so that's got me a bit nervous. I tend to like more mild razors. Nevertheless, everyone seems to praise this razor for how this a really smooth shaver, something I can't say about my 34C. The only way to know for sure is to take it for a spin in the morning. Here's hoping I like the way it shaves. When I ordered this, it was a toss up between this razor and a Savile Row 3824. I hope I made the right choice.

BTW, it came with a pack of my favorite blades. Way to go Ed! :a50:

I've got the DLC, both the original & Bulldog handle. It is the only safety bar razor I use. Everything else is OCs. I'm sure you will love it, it is a thing of beauty!!

First shave with the Weber this morning. I don't find this to be a mild razor at all. It felt more aggressive than my 34C, but it also felt more efficient than my 34C. I got a very smooth finish to my shave without any irritation. I did nick my chin in two places on the last pass though. I used Proraso for my soap. I find I tend to nick myself more with this soap than some others. I'm not sure why because Proraso seems to have lots of cushion. Tomorrow I'll use MdC with this razor and see what happens.

So, first impression:
-More aggressive than I anticipated. More so than the 34C.
-Very close shave with no razor burn or irritation.
-I can't imagine why anyone would want to shim this thing.
