What's new

The MacGyver Brush

Only two more steps and this one will be complete. The .50 Cal casing is secured in place in the base ande now to make the BB and epoxy shelf in the Ferrel and allow to set before epoxying the knot into place. Almost done by this weekend it should be ready to use

And now the Weighted Stable Shelf is made and curing so tomorrow I shall install the knot once this cures properly:thumbup: This should offset some of the weight of the brass in the base:

Now on to the next Project:w00t: This is too much Fun!!!

That really does look nice. Please post bloom pictures after you use it too.

Thank You Jim, I will certainly do that. Once my Son Lather's it up for the first time tomorrow when he shaves I will get a photo of it with the lather whelp on it and then again after he has rinsed and dried it to show the bloom pattern that it takes on.

The Next Brush is now underway. I just cut the blank for what will become a Black Onyx Silvertip Badger Brush after I have done my work on it with some new approaches for the Grip Section:thumbup:

Set up with the Knot and the .50 Cal Shell I did decide to add one more grip ring to it for a slightly better grip:thumbup1:

Now that the shape and cavities are bored out it is time to start the conditioning, painting and after that the final waterproofing coat but Here is the progress over this mornings session of work:

Thank you guys very much. I just put the Final coat of paint on and all that is left before setting everything is the waterproofing. Once I have that done and it has had a couple days to dry thoroughly it will be Time to put everything together for it's final form.

Getting Closer!!! Just got done with the final coat of water proofing and allowed it to dry enough to get this photo. It is now officially Very Shiny Onyx Black. I will give it a minimum of 24 hours to finish drying fully before I start setting things into place. The Knot has been fully cleaned out and no badger smell to contaminate the nostrils as well. I did this a few days ahead of time to allow it to fully dry out prior to setting it into place.
