The lather

When you bowl lather, you get lather in your bowl and in the brush.

You gather up the lather and apply it to your face.

But when you face lather or when I face lather by the time I'm done lathering there is a very very thick layer on my face.

Im using an almond size dollop of cream and distiller water.

Same as me. I prefer bowl lathering because I am able to apply lather on my face evenly with each pass. When I face lather the amount of lather drops off when I reach the 4th pass and I have to apply a little more soap on my face.

I didn't quiet understand.

When I face lather, the layer is very thick.
I do the first pass WTG. Then wash, apply more lather.

My first lather doesn't last me 4 passes.

When face lathering if your lather appears to be TOO thick, dip your brush into water and work it some more on your face. Keep dipping and working until you get an acceptable "fluffy" first lather.

This will work enough lather into your brush so that you can get 4 full passes and even have enough left over for a 5th clean up pass you can remove with your other hand to rub your face with and look for any missed whiskers.

Thanks Claus. Very informative and welcome back! You disappeared for a couple of days.

UPDATE

Turns out I should have used less cream because I was using distilled water.
When I used less cream I had just the right amount

Subsequent Question

When I lather the second time, the lather it a bit thin. Not watery but thin. Not as rich as the first lather I created on my face.
