That's the first non-chrome one I've seen with the 12 shorter teeth. I have a couple of each style, for me the 'more tooth' model provides a more comfortable shave. If only Gem had a better documented history- so many mysteries!

Disregard everything I said about the differences in the teeth on the two models. I looked at this gold one I have in my office and noticed it has 12 "short" teeth, just like the chrome ones. Anyone have any ideas?

They could have run out of gold teeth and substituted a chrome one on your particular example. I say that only because most people seem to agree with your earlier assessment.

I think a Clog Pruf is going to be my next SE. I own 2 Juniors, a OCMM and a Ever-Ready.

I might sell the 2nd Junior (in brass) and get a Clog Pruf as a replacement.

Ever since I got my mmoc....I don't know if I wwill go back to the clog pruf.
Dont see a need since the open comb is so nice.
