The Brown Leaf and shaving habits

You know, since I have been smoking my pipe, I find myself shaving less- as little as three times a week. Judging by the photo thread I don't think I am alone. So, what say you? Are some of us just getting lazy, or does a beard belong with a pipe?

I've been paying much less attention to shaving, since I restored my grandfather's pipe and started smoking. I've noticed my shaving skills have gone downhill a little, now that I'm not shaving every day. I was just getting some momentum going with a straight razor, too. Oh well, it'll come back.

My wife wants me to grow a beard just once more. I try to tell her there is a lot of gray there but she won't listen.

Of course we're lazy, we have spent untold amounts of money devoted to hobbies that are geared towards relaxation. Besides, shaving is supposed to be an enjoyment, as with pipe smoking. If someone made me smoke a pipe everyday, I'd probably hate it. My best shaves are when my beard has about three to four days on it, and I can't stand the irritation on my neck when I'm trying to sleep. I've fired up the scuttle and the R41 many a time in the wee hours of the morning. If I can't get back to sleep after, I go have a pipe on the back porch with the dogs.

Cigars mostly, he can't get the hang of the whole tamp and puff thing. He just gets frustrated and pees on it after two or three re-lights.

I have been a lazy shaver long before I started smoking a pipe although I have been smoking cigars almost as long as I've been shaving........ Related???
Thanks to B&B I enjoy my lazy shaving so much more nowadays!

I ebb and flow. Desire for a pipe goes up, shaving frequency goes down. Don't feel like a pipe that day? Gotta shave!

A lot of times at night when I would normally go shave, I decide that I'd rather smoke a cigar for an hour+ and end up going to bed without shaving.

Perhaps the lack of opposable thumbs is a contributing factor?

I only shave 3-4 times a week in a good week, anyway. I can't grow a full beard, but I do keep a bit of a scraggly Van Dyke lately.

Thought the tamper was for loading.
Thought the cake should be completely removed with the "spoon tool".
Thought that when it went out, it was done.
Funny... puffed like I was smoking a Camel, but I never remember it smoking wet.

Of those first pipes, I would really like to dig through my garage and find one... it was a bent Hunter with a silver wind cap and horn stem/bit.

I do that, but substitute pipe.

Sorry, I've been off my game lately. If I had a cat or a camel that was peeing on a pipe, the joke would have been more obvious. When the dog whizzes on it, it's more of a "Brown Rope no.4" eau de toilette essence.
