So I picked up a blue tip several years back. At the time, I thought aggression is where it's at. I probably shave with it a couple of times and it went into the drawer. As I've gotten better technique, my preference has shifted towards milder razors. So I withdrew my blue tip from the drawer of shame, loaded a Viking Sword blade and the last two days have been remarkably great shaves. I normally like a heavier feel, but this has been very good.
Blue Tip Super Speed
Dorco Platinum ST301
Semogue boar brush
Soap Commander Integrity
Cold water to finish
This blade has interesting properties. It makes the Blue Tip feel like an aggressive razor without that close shave feeling at the end. This first shave felt pretty rough. We’ll see if it improves with use.
I just wanted to show my user grade Blue Tip 1955 . This one spent years in my razor project box because the baseplate had come loose due to aluminum oxidation. I ended up cleaning the oxidation with my rotary tool and glued the handle to the base plate with Krazy Glue. It's been in my rotation ever since.
