Thater: Inital impressions

I recently bought a Thater 2 band Finest Silvertip. This one happens to be the SRP 2011 Limited edition.

I have used it twice, and I can say without a doubt it is the finest shaving brush I have ever used. The tips are so soft that they feel like a pillow on my face, and the dense knot has the most incredible flow through I have ever incountered.

I admit I have not tried a Simpson 2 band.....yet. Of all i have used TGN silvertip, and 2 band, and a Semogue boar this Thater eclipses them all. Highly recommended, and for what you get an incredible value/dollar.

There is one on the BST here I almost got the bulb but then I chickened out, nice looking brushes.

"Pillow" is exactly right. That's the first word that I thought of when bought a Thater a few months ago.

I have the same brush and its fantastic. Pillowy soft tips. The handle shape looks odd, but its quite ergonomic and is an absolute pleasure to use

I also just bought a Thater 4125/1 in 3 band on BST. I cant wait to try it! Everyone that buys a Thater speaks very highly of them.

My 4125/2 (3-band) is probably the softest brush I have, but it seems to be a lather hog - probably because it's so densely packed. Otherwise, it's a really nice brush.
