Seeking advice from Simpsons followers, Rooney veterans, and all silvertip experts

Has anyone ever seen Simpsons 58 or Commodore X3 in super (silvertip) badger? Commodore X3 feels like the perfect loft size for my style of face lathering, but if the brush would have badger's hair from the neck of the animal, I think it would be my Holly Grail.

If those brushes have a habit of periodically showing up in super (silvertip) at Simpsons' store for special occasions or some limited editions, maybe I'll be patient and wait. Commodore X3 or 58 in super badger, I would buy both. I'm trying to find the closest face feel and the lather machine like my Rooney in very dense super silvertip 24/47.

If there is no such thing as X3 and 58 in super badger, please can you recommend other manufacturers' 3-band classic silvertip, with the dense loft 46-47mm, handle taller than 50mm, knot 24mm, +/- 1mm maybe isn't the big deal).
Budget: $250 US. Thank you.

Have you tried reaching out to Simpsons directly?

Another option that may suit your needs would be to consider talking to someone like Rudy Vey about having a custom brush assembled for you, particularly if you care about the handle design as well as the brush itself...

Hi,
thank you for reply, I know about Rudy Vey, but the problem is he can't export badger hair out of USA, and I live in Canada. I never knew I could talk to the manufacturor for a single custom order brush, so I was thinking maybe something that matches my description already exists out there in web stores, but I am not finding it.

It doesn’t hurt to ask. The worst they can say is “no” or just ignore your email. Simpsons makes plenty of limited edition brushes, so a custom one doesn’t seem too far off from the realm of possibilities

If you reach out, Simpson will usually reply back. I've had many conversations with Mark Watterson over the years. I'm not sure who is in charge of that stuff now.

As above, I'd recommend contacting Simpson directly.

+1! Yes indeed!! Why not see if you can get precisely what you want.

For what it is worth, I enjoy my Simpsons 57 in best and also my Tulip 2 and Tulip 3 in super. Based on that experience, I predict that a 58 in super would be terrific!! :a29: :a29: :a29:

Last summer I PIF’ed my X3 Commodore on this forum. It’s an amazing brush. Of course the default grade is Best so I’m curious to see what Simpsons reply will be.
In case you’re wondering why I gave it away, it’s because I’m making a conscious effort to keep my brush rotation to a minimum. One come in, one goes out.

If you reach out to Simpsons they should be able to accommodate you. They have made 3 off menu brushes for me in the past. They've made me a Classic 2 in super and 2-band and a Duke 3 in super.

My wallet cries.
In Canada myself and can confirm if you reach out to Simpsons, Mark and Anna will/should take care of your needs, just let'em know what you want. Even handle colour doesn't have to be their standard/classic ivory, if you like their butterscotch or saw another handle color from them you fancied, mention it. Worse they could say is we don't have it any more etc etc.

Have fun and good luck.
