Taking Appart a Gillette ??

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that razor should have a kind of 'reverse phillips' head screw thingy at the bottom inside the handle. There are instructions for modifying a straight screwdriver for doing the job on a thread here somewhere, but I don't have the link handy.

This is an English Aristocrat and probably has the solid handle end. It's not like a Fatboy.

I would recommend a long soaking in hot dish soap water if you think the problem in internal. Maybe you can loosen up any junk inside. But look and see if any of the external parts hit when you open it. It could be a simple adjustment. Since I have a couple razors like this I always wondered how to take them apart as well.

Isn't this the same razor? It has a hole in the bottom.

#21 is a hollow handle , and recessed in there is a "cross" style screw head....

After that you're on ya own, sorry ..... :001_smile

Wow. Talk about simple.
Once you mod your screwdriver, and get that screw out (remember, reverse threads on it), it is the easiest one piece to take the doors off of that I have ever taken apart. It offers zero resistance once you open the doors all the way. It just slides right off the thread and out.

Mine had a severely bent safety bar, a bent hinge and a bent door. It's almost back to normal now - just a little tweaking to get it just right.
