Has anybody used the symmetry OC razor? I'm thinking about giving an open comb a try and not sure I want to jump right to the r41.

I haven't used that razor, but if you're open to suggestions I'd look at the Cadet OC's. They're great and are around $19.
+1 loved using the Cadet.

I'll give the cadet look. Price was a reason that I was looking at the symmetry.
I haven't used it either. I have heard great things about the Parker 26c and Parker 24c. Might want to check it out.
+2 on the Cadet.
Try the Parker. Less aggressive than the Cadet. Smoother feel on the face.
I have the Synergy OC.
I first could not use it, I was getting terrible snag and pull with 7 O'clock Yellows.
Then, I put in a Astra SP and now I'm getting some incredibly smooth shaves.
I highly recommend the Synergy OC, the build quality is excellent, and with the right blade its a home run.

You might also want to look into the RR Jaws. It's a bit mild for an OC so it would be a great introductory OC. It's at a very good price under $20.

I went with the symmetry OC and they were selling blemished S-42 razors foe less than 10 bucks so ordered one of those too! Then while ordering various restocking shave stuff at Maggard's they had blemished MR4's on sale so, my only getting one open comb razor turned into three razors! Now to wait on the mailman!
