What's new

SWMBO has AD

I simply have to share this.....

Crabtree and Evelyn are offering a $10 off coupon, so I bought a shave soap to try. I've heard great things about their SS and I have to say, it lives up to the reputation.

So I told my wife about Crabtree and Evelyn and told her they have tons of stuff for women and that she should try some.

Now, she has tolerated my ADs. I had RAD and SSAD but survived them and the seas are calm now.

So she ordered a jar of Body Butter  I was disappointed to find out it's not what I was hoping it was... and some bath soap. So the other day it arrived and she used it that night. I'm sitting on the couch as she returns from her show, she sits down beside me with a big grin and say Oh my gosh! That stuff is awesome....feel how soft and smooth my skin feels. (No this isn't going there), but here's where I bust up laughing.... She continues to go on how this stuff is better than anything she's ever used...and then she say "Now all I can think about is I what am I going to try next.... I want this and this and this .....I just cracked up and said

"I know, you're telling a guy with two dozen shave soaps in the bathroom and all kinds of razors! I'm glad to see you have that AD under control!...That's Acquisition Disorder...You're about to understand it all to well!"

She now has LAD (Lotion AD):wink2: as well as her first DE razor, a Lady Gillette Blue, which by the way, after she used it she took it into work to show her co-workers.

After all the little comments and looks I've received since I started down this path, I can't help but lovingly laugh.

Great story. Perhaps the two of you can get this crappy economy going again! :001_smile

Your story brought a smile to my wife (who tolerates my AD) and me.

Thanks for sharing; I believe this post will be waiting on my screen for when my SWMBO gets home from work. :thumbup1:
Though she had always been just a soap and water shaver (w/ multiblade cart); gave my Real Shaving Co. cream a go last week and she's starting to get hooked on that. :biggrin1: At least its a step in the right direction.

My wife is generally a soap and water shaver too. Sometimes she uses the shave gels for women. HOWEVER, the other morning I was lathering up some Gentlemen's Best Chilled and asked her if she wanted to try it. She loved the cool feeling and said it left her legs feeling softer and smoother. She used a cartidge razor then and hasn't completely gone over to her DE yet. When she's in a hurry, she still goes cartidge becasue it's what she's comfortable with right now.

My wife loves her DE (black handle superspeed) and TOBS cream. Also in the last year we had bath and body works open up and she loved it there too, although the downside is that she is allergic to aloe so that keeps her from using a lot of products.

My AD's struck again. I ordered a puck of Crabtree and Evelyn Nomad shaving soap after seeing this thread. Using the coupon (AGIFT10) it was $6.26 with tax and shipping.

Not a bad deal. But it wasn't like I actually needed any shaving soap.

I just can't pass up a good deal.

Glad that she has a Lady Gillette. That is my favorite razor. I have some chocolate smelling soap that is really interesting. I like much of the same types of soaps that you guys like. You just need to see what scents that she likes. Caress makes a body wash that smells terrfic if you like the smell of coconut. It is yellow and is called Glowing Touch. It is very light and rinses well.
