What's new

Am I the only one who misses Crabtree and Evelyn?

As I was perusing my rather extensive collection of shaving soaps, creams, aftershaves etc. I saw a few pucks and tubes of Crabtree and Evelyn that I bought back when they still had a brick-and-mortar store in my town. Occasionally they would have clearance sales of older or discontinued stuff, and I would stock up. I understand the fragrances were not to everyone's liking but I always thought the products performed well. I still have one puck of Sienna, Sandalwood and West Indian Lime each as well as a tube of the lime. Now that the stores are gone and they've stopped all men's products, I find myself wishing they would at least offer them on a limited run. Am I alone in this? Thoughts?

Sir, you are not alone!
I still use a C&E aluminum comb. Unfortunately, their soaps, etc are long gone from my den!:sob::sob:

Not made for these times.
My mother loved that place. Sadly, I don't think I ever went into the location we had in Nasville that was located in The Mall at Green Hills.

I do miss some special edition brushes and razor handles they made every once and then. I have a beautiful bath soap container that I found in eBay that matched with a shaving mug that eventually broke :'(

C&E had some nice shave soaps.
I can imagine that the retail shops were fun back in the day.
Never an outlet near me, so really not missed that much.
Still enjoy their sandalwood puck.

Yup. Every time I decide I want to try a new shaving soap I remember how much I loved the scent of their Sienna shaving soap. The performance wasn't great but I've never enjoyed a scent as much as that one 😕

Nope-I miss them too! I have a glass jar of their Sweet Almond Oil SC that I only use on special occasions-anniversary, etc. I also have 2 more tubes of the SAO and a tube of the Sandalwood stashed away, fortunately.

One of my favourite soaps. On my second puck of Moroccan myrrh, two more in reserve. Unfortunately, never tried their tallow. Keeping my eyes out for the Mysore Sandalwood, prices have gotten a wee bit crazy.

I use C&E sparingly these days especially when a puck is selling for around $75. I love their creams and soaps. I’m very happy to have a decent stash to last me for a good wile. I wish they were still around.

I used their creams for a while when I was getting in to the hobby. To be honest, I did not know they had gone. That's a shame, it was pretty good cream.

Hi,

Well, no. I don't miss them. I don't even recognize the brand. what I miss is Yardley....

Around here, Crabtree is a creek that runs thru Raleigh, NC and seemingly floods on the first drop of rain. And Evelyn is my favorite waitress at the local Mexican restaurant.

Sounds like a brand I'd be missing if I had ever tried it.
