These Eco responsible notepads will set you back around 4 bucks for the 9.5 x 6
or about 5.50 for the full 8.5 x 11 books which is a great value for 200 pages (100 sheets)

This stuff comes from sugar cane ?, nice job

It has a thick stiff cardboard type cover, that comes in a few different designs, is tough enough to take a few licks and protect your work
not sure you would want to get it wet, or rest a glass or soda can on it if it is sweating

The inside sleeve has a pocket on both sides to keep some notes, or a business card. And the metal ring binding has a great looks, and appears to be brass maybe. It is tougher and more durable then the usual spiral style bindings and i dont think warpage will be an issue with it.

The paper is white, medium weight, im not sure what the number is as I dont see it advertised, and has a nice lined spacing done in a light brownish colour.
Writing with the paper is great, there is no feathering, and it is smooth enough to feel like quality paper. My fps have had no problems with this paper, and it has been a joy to use at work

There is some ghosting with this stuff, although how heavy will depend on the lighting your in, Most of my pens didnt bleed through, but i have had that happen from time to time. For a notebook or journal, and use at work, this stuff works just great and is cheap

you can see some ghosting of the page here, although this doesnt bother everyone, some people may not like it

You can see here, the ink takes to the page well, the vintage scrip in the parker 51 used here dries quickly and unless you make a direct smudge even after a second shouldnt be that big of an issue

Mixing regular jottings and B&B stuff i think about through the day, along with work stuff that i write up is a bit of an issue at times, its not only nice to rip the page out but get a nice clean edge if its something i need to keep or stack after due to the perforated edges.

This isnt the best paper I have, but its a great value and easily had for anyone looking to jot down notes, write a journal, or doodle in on the cheap
I would highly recommend checking this stuff out as it is a great option for a lot of people

Great review James! I have the same notebook. I agree it is great FP friendly paper for the price. I have the same ghosting "problem" but if that is the only shortcoming at this price point, I don't mind it at all.

The Staples Sustainable Earth notebooks are my everyday standards. For "fancy" (my 'official' journal), I've got some Black 'n' Red and Staples "M" series books. The SE books perform quite well, and they're cheap enough to ignore the show-through and just write on one side of the page. I use a variety of inks and pens on them and have had little or no issues with bleed-through or feathering.

Nice review, James. I get a fair amount of feathering depending on the pen/ink but for most combos it works fine. The fact that this line can be purchased locally and they can be a great bargain makes these an easy purchase.
