surplus ww2 gillette razors

I am on the mailing list for International Military Arms, Ima-usa.com, and they have a 'sale' on supposedly unissued ww2 Gillette razors with a 10-pack of PAL blades for $25.00, plus shipping of course. Looks like a Tech to me)

Made in USA or England, no choice...thought all you collectors might be interested.

Do you have a link or pictures. I have seen supposedly unused sets from military supply sites before that were extremely sad. And, PAL blades would not have been the original blades as Gillette was into the war effort to push their blades. They should have been Gillette Blues.

+1, unless it sat exposed to the elements for many years before being found.

Congrats on 300!

Maybe many years exposed while being used to prop up engine blocks in rusting jeeps. ***? It doesn't make any sense to refer to that razor as unissued. It seems like Tom Foolery is afoot here!! (Good old Tom - spends most of his time on the internet!)

that razor is beyond used, looks like it was hit in war with a few hand granades, maybe he means it wasnt issued to civilians, but only to g.i.'s/soldiers...lol

Maybe it was unissued. It could have been found in a supply crate at the bottom of a river in Europe some 50 years after it was manufactured!

That's what I think. They look like they've been under water for quite a few years. I wouldn't want one if they were free.

I'm wondering where they were kept?

That inside pic I can live with. That is just some nasty aging possible from being stored in nasty conditions.

But, the outside of the case is scratched all to h*ll. Aging I can see - but to get all scratched up so badly, sheesh. Even if they are unissued, maybe they should have issued them to people who could have kept them in drawers and cupboards rather than buried in some water filled time capsule placed ontop of a bunch of sharp rocks inside some sort of moving conveyance for the last 60 years.

Kind of like going to an earthquake sale to buy your new chrysler. Why bother?

Now I never said they were unissued...that is what IMA said. I have to agree that they are a bit grungy, but the blade pacs are new. But, to list them there must be a LOT of them.

My guess would be that they were repacked and marked as 'unissued' with new blades put in the cases, ready for use if the war lasted to 1949 or so and the Brits ran out of shaving gear for the new troops. Meanwhile dumped loose in a crate and stored in a damp, moldy warehouse below the level of the Thames.

Guess I have not convinced anyone to by one and let the rest of us know. Dang!
