Super Speed variations in handle pattern

I know someone posted a thread on this some time ago - but I cannot find it. I got a couple of super speed flair tips that have different handle patters. You can see in the photo the one on the top (A1 date code) has more pronounced rings around the handle than the one below (C1 date code). It's a little easier to see in the second photo from more of a distance.

Does anyone have a handle on these handle variations?

I was just looking at mine last night and noticed some of this. Actually I noticed it because I got a lot off the bay with a few SSs and one of them appeared to be a TV at first glance when I opened the box, but that was just because it's rings were faint compared to the other 2.

It's not a model (date code) difference, just a manufacturing (factory v. factory) difference.

(Personally, I love the ones with the deep grooves.)
