Strop Shoppe Special Edition Shaving Soap

Has anyone tried the Strop Shoppe's Special Edition shaving soap line? I've been using their Barbershoppe scent for a few weeks now and this stuff is second to none. Its performance is as good as the heaviest hitters in my opinion - MdC included - better than 95% of the soaps I've tried. The Barbershoppe scent is very nice too - though it doesn't compare quite as favourably to the established brands' scents that I like (that would be a really tall order though). I have a tub of their Lemon Eucalyptus on the way.

Really good stuff. I've been using baker st. It's far superior to their older stuff, and it wasn't bad before.

I agree, it's a good soap. I have the Black Tie tallow. There are some really good artisan soapers making some outstanding products.

I have the Baker St with Tallow and it is truly a great soap. I really like the scent as well.

Not the Special Edition but the Bay Rum is my favorite. Best soap I've ever tried.

Has anyone tried the Baker Street and Black Tie both? Wondering how they compare...

I have Barbershoppe, Baker Street, and Black Tie (all special edition with tallow) and they are all excellent performers. Black Tie has a bit of a peppery kick to the scent and is probably the most 'cologne' like scent from the three. Baker Street is by far my favorite scent. I can't even properly describe it. I would love for them to make a cologne/aftershave of that scent.

I've got the Lemon/Eucalyptus non-tallow and it has lived up to the hype. The double butter, extra soft shaving soap leaves my face feeling soft long after the shave. Just the right amount of fragrance is used. It is on par with my personal favorite Castle Forbes. I'd suggest trying some if you get the chance, the performance will surprise you!
