Finding a Gotta 120 is not particularly difficult in Australia. They are one of the more common razors you find here. Mostly in poor condition. I get the impression that they were users and by all accounts rather good ones. I should be finished buying razors but when I stumbled across this one going cheap, I could not resist. My first Gotta.

Nice!

I think you know, I rate those razors highly, and have owned lots of them over the years.

Also worth mentioning, basically the same razor is available under many different brand names (I'm still not sure how many), so bargains can be had for the less well known examples.

I took a chance on these, photos were rather poor but I thought I could see enough to make an informed decision. Top Eiko has light honewear but some surface rust to address, it's about 22mm. The other one is 21mm, right where I expected based on the visible wear. And a YSS "Triumph," half hollow and almost pristine save for some cosmetic blemishes, it's a little smaller though, 18 or 19mm. Pretty happy with these!

My couple of SR will become a thrupple. ERN 6/8 'Racoon'. Looks to be in fantastic shape.

Etsy buy. 130 CAD (95 USD) shipped/landed...just have to wait now. Decent enough deal? I'm essentially a neophyte.

Antique store find. I know I’ll probably have to grind most of the blade away to get past the rust, but it was basically NOS (minus rust) for 5 bucks. I can find nothing about this razor anywhere. Hopefully it will shave more than a pig’s nethers by the time I’m done with it.

Two packages arrived in the mail today. Strange thing is: both came from the same seller, but were sent five days apart. That's the USPS for you.

First is a Red Imp made by Ludo Shear and Razor Works, Solingen. The Red Imp trade mark is hard to decipher - many razors were made with it that originated at different sources.

It's even harder to trace the origin of a C-Mon razor. This one is a Goldie and it has some gold wash on the tang and tail. The opposite side is marked Peter J Michel Brooklyn N.Y. with an arrow through a bell trade mark. I don't know if this was actually made the Carl Monkhouse or a contract maker for PJM.

Both razors were sold to me by a trusted source - his instagram is adam.v.c._

Both arrived honed and stropped, shave ready and I'm looking forward to shaving tomorrow. I haven't decided which one to try first.

I've had this Puma 39 from Griffith for a few days. Full hollow, 6/8 and a spacer pin, centers perfectly. I finally had time to pay it the attention it deserved on its first shave. The condition speaks for itself.

My first razor from Griffith. Absolutely a top class experience. Stropped at the source and truly, fully shave ready.

@Tanuki I would advise you not to peruse his website anymore or the above Puma39 will not be the last blade you purchase from Matt unless of course you have tremendous will power!
