So, I am almost exclusively a dark beer/stout drinker. Generally, if I can see through it I won't drink it when it comes to beer, so please acknowledge the bias.
I think that this is pretty much my favorite beer. I've been sipping down one of these almost every other night since I discovered it. (Probably a few years now.)
I'll spare you a description of the flavor because, well quite frankly I'm not drinking it at this very moment and I feel I can echo a thought from the book Fight Club when I write, "The taste of beer only exists between the hours when you start drinking it and when you stop drinking it." More or less.
But I will tell you that it doesn't have the alcohol content that you would perhaps expect from an imperial stout, nor does it possess the chewy/thick richness of an imperial like Ten Fidy from Oskar Blues. (That stuff is motor oil, a real "Man's Beer".) But it is still very rich and surprisingly crisp for a stout.
It also comes in a very handsome green ovular bottle, reminiscent of the colonial era taverns.
All in all, a great beer that I highly recommend.
