Speick fans -- recommend to me something similar

As a couple of others have done here, I must mention Palmolive. While Speick is the best-performing commercial shave soap I have used (I think it beats Tabac, which is very close to the same), Palmolive is similarly slick, clean-scented, simple (fewer ingredients even than Speick), and easy to lather. I like its scent better, and honestly, its performance is brilliant enough that I hardly notice the slight step down from Speick.

Try not to worry about tallow too much. At least in my experience, good soaps can be made without it.

La Toja is quickly becoming my go-to soap.

Had Speick stick once. Couldn't stand the scent. Smelled like old man to me. No offense to those who like it.

The soap DID perform well. Does Speick make soap with a different scent?

And I actually don't mind the smell of Tabac. Go figure!

You dislike Speick because its like old man scent but you like Tabac. Weird!!!!

Whilst Speick is a rather singular scent, you may find that Mitchell's Wool Fat and Tabac are each second cousins to it.
