Thought I'd kick off this month's acquisitions thread with two of my latest. If you have noticed any of my other thread in this forums I've recently inquired about both Scotch and a Pipe...now I have both. I must say this Bowmore is really quite fantastic and the Pipe does taste good though I will need to get better at packing it.

Dropped any shaving AD's...now looks like I picked up at least one more (Scotch) and perhaps another.

My local Spec's just got this in, and I traded up a bit from the Dalmore 12 I stopped in there to buy:

Not my pic, but I can tell you, in person the color is absolutely amazing. Can't wait to crack this one open!

Definitely report your thoughts on this one. Sounds really interesting.

It is interesting! Very different, but in a GOOD way. Somewhat medicinal scent, though not the samemedicinal as an Islay. Concentrated nose. Feels thick, oily and viscous on the tongue, initially presents as very dry then opens up to something reminiscent of apples, followed by miles of intense spice. You can just leave it on your tongue and the spice never stops coming . . . swallow, and there's just a tinge of rum on the finish. Very nice Scotch, I thought. Like it a lot.

auchentauchen 12 yo

not bad but their just seems to be something missing, big hit of alcoholl burn but nothing realy pops out at you and the finish is kinda short.

Sprinkbank ten
Vielle Provision Saison Dupont (skunked... Why the *** do they put this in green glass bottles??!!)
Ayinger Weizen Bock
Smuttynose S'muttonator

Very good scotch (and a bit different than my usual Islay purchase).

The s'muttonator and saison are "research" bottles for upcoming home brew batches

Sprinkbank ten

My number one, all-time favorite, whisky. The other expressions are great (when I was a kid I actually used stand there and ogle the ancient and expensive Springbank bottles in the window of John Walker & Sons on Sutter St. in San Francisco) but the ten is just so damn solid - it's never let me down. :thumbup1:

I received one of the "special" coupons for Total Wine, which apparently are hard to come by. $25 off $100 wine. So picked up a number of bottles and will report anything outstanding. Also, the Balvenie Doublewood 12 finally made it into my cart. At $35.99, how could it not?

Just picked up a bottle of Glen Garioch Founder's Reserve. Quite a smooth and flavorful scotch. I may have found a new go-to scotch.

My last acquisition of October was a bottle of the new 2010 Parker's Heritage Collection bourbon. It's a 10 Year old wheater. Something truly special indeed.
